The Development of an American Hypercar
LYNX Motors has acquired 30 chassis from Ford Racing. Combining these chassis with the Matech GT1 LeMans racing body with a fully Carbon Fiber body that is 6.0″ wider than the standard Ford GT, and you have a vehicle which exudes such an iconic presence and stance. Mate that body to a race bred 1,200 HP Supercharged Ford Performance Power plant and now you have a true American Hypercar
Engine
The beating heart of the GT1 is a 1,200 HP 5.2 Liter Ford Performance Supercharged V8 developing over 900 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through a Ricardo 6-speed manual gearbox which optimized to handle the raw power of the race-bread V8. The engine’s Magnuson Supercharger creates linear boost well into the rev range resulting in an estimated top speed of 238 mph and a 0-60 time under 3 seconds. A Dailey dry sump oil system keeps the power plant well lubricated under hard lateral acceleration. Exhaust is channeled through High temperature stainless steel headers and terminates through titanium tips for a free flow of unrestricted power.
Body
The body of the GT1 is derived directly from the Matech Racing 2010 LeMans GT1 wide body. LYNX modified key body elements to be more aligned to street use, like the taper of the front air dam and front splitter to the vents over the wheel arches and the hinged clamshell. The rear diffusers are aggressive like the race version but tapered up to clear street obstacles and bumps.
